#P90X Day 45: Half. Way. There.

Back & Bicep

Tony Horton is in decent shape. Sort of. I guess...

What a workout to have on the day where I get to say, “I’M HALF WAY THROUGH P90X!”

Back & Bicep continues to be, what I honestly think, is the most difficult P90X Classic workout. Though your back gets worked to pieces, your biceps are really where the action happens. All back movement works the biceps here and adding all the wicked curls to it…you’re just begging to be sore and exhausted.

I hit this workout today in the middle of the afternoon. I had a client meeting before and after this workout, so I took my window of opportunity and I so totally pushed play.

Let’s have a look at the highlights: I hit all curl movements with either 20lbs free weights or a combination of Red and Yellow resistance bands (that’s heavy and medium). The last two sets, the In/Out Hammer Curls and the Strip Set were super tough. On the strip set my forearms and biceps were so tired I did Red and Blue bands for the first two sets and then just the red bands for the last two.

I really brought it, I felt like. My pullups weren’t what I typically can do, but that’s because I was giving most of my energy and power to the curls. I have never specifically focused my workouts on bicep work at all – knowing that any pullups, pulldowns or rows give them a decent working anyhow. So I figured I’d take my biceps for a P90X spin and see what they can do. And I have to say, I’m seeing solid progress each time I hit this workout.

(down from last time, but I worked my arms SO much more this time around.)

AB RIPPER X

Today’s ABX was….eh….alright. The first half was tough for me. Real tough. Like 1st week tough. I guess my abs hadn’t fully recovered from two days ago. However, last half I was very strong. Rocked out Fifer Scissors, no-touchs on the Leg Climbs, sixty in a row Mason Twists, and some really solid V-up Roll-ups.
