Back & Bicep: A bittersweet tale

So last night I had the joy of working out with my friend Russell Shelley. He’s a great guy and when it comes to rowing, he’s a beast. I was thrilled when he accepted my invitation to workout and try out P90X.

We did Back & Bicep and it was a brutal workout. I think now that I’ve gone through it once, I’ll have a much better time of it next week. I prefer using the resistance bands, but I let Russell use them yesterday and the weight I had on my free weights was too light for nearly all of the workouts that weren’t pullups. So, I pulled double time and ended up rocking out about 20 reps of everything in the time limit given.

However, 1/2 a day later, my biceps are definitely feeling in. My back too. Though I didn’t push myself like I wanted, I still got a tremendous workout from a new routine yet again.

Ab Ripper was very strong, even though I was still sore from it two days ago, I still gave it my all — and it hurt like hell. However, I was finally, for the first time, able to do the reverse bicycles without stopping.

I really feel like Core Synergistics had a tremendous part to play in my recent gains, specifically in Ap Ripper X and Yoga Belly 7. Both I’ve been much stronger in this week.

Back & Bicep Calories Burned: 609
Ab Ripper X Calories Burned: 203
