#P90X Day 28: X Stretch
Back Hero: Good for the quads. Good for the soul.
Ever have those days where just moving feels like you’re just wading through quick sand? This morning was the start of just such a day. I got up at 4:45 feeling like I got no sleep. I fell asleep at 11:00pm and it seemed like just moments later I was waking up. It went by that fast, however I felt like I must have been wide awake the entire time and just don’t remember it.
Anyhow, stretching just made me want to go back to bed. I was foolishly expecting to easily move in and out of these poses and stretches, just as I had done last night on the latter 1/2 of Yoga X. And as foolish as it was, nothing prepared me for how aggressively I strained my neck while doing plough. Both plough and the hamstring stretched were near catastrophes. Being as tired as I was, I wasn’t fully bracing myself for my lack of flexibility first thing in the morning. However, I was smart enough to not let the stretch tear anything. Even Back Hero and Camel turned out ok.
All in all, I finished the workout feeling mildly energized, but pleased that I didn’t hurt myself like I could have.
A NEW HORIZON
Not much else to say. This week was a good recovery, but I’m anxious to get back into working hard each and every day and changing up my eating habits to match what Phase 2 offers.
I’m proud as ever that I am 1/3 the way through this workout! Week 5 starts tomorrow and I’m not sure what to expect with the first workout. Any thoughts/suggestions from any P90X veterans out there? Pour out that wisdom, friends. I’m all ears.
