P90X Day 10: Shoulders & Arms
The name of my game: Resistance Bands. Good for the mind and the body.
So, a mere 10 hours after I did Round 2 of Plyometrics, I got my self up at 4:45am this morning and did Shoulders & Arms. And much like last night, I did my best and forgot the rest!
I pushed myself to the edge this morning. Save for the first tricep extensions (where I used 25lb free weights), the chair dips and the side tri extensions, this was an all resistance band workout for me. I really dig using the bands now. My goal this time around was to take every workout where I used a single band and added another band.
So, where I was using a red band (the toughest single band), I added a blue band. On the last tri-extensions I just didn’t have it in me. I had to stay with just the red band, but I took em slow and easy. Kept my elbows close and really worked it.
One other workout (can’t remember now), I had a red and a yellow band for the workout.
I bumped my dips from 25/set to 30/set and on the side tri-extensions I did 30/side/set.
All in all, I’m really pleased with my gains this week. I feel like by merely having confidence in the workouts having already done them once has given me the the edge I need to really be aware of what my body is telling me and what it takes to “Bring It”!
The Ab Ripper X was bizarrely easier than I anticipated this morning. My abs were sore, but I was able to really push through all the workouts. And my big breakthrough was this:
I did all 40 Mason Twists without stopping and without dropping my feet to the ground!

TOTAL CALORIE BURN: 851
On a different note, my gorgeous wife, Pandia, is joining back in on the action this weekend! She has had a sinus infection to rival all other sinus infections, but she’s on the mend and read for action. Can’t wait to hit up some Yoga X with her tomorrow.

Hey congrats on just starting P90X. Right now I’m on my second round, and after my first one I became a Beachbody coach which I’m loving. I always liked the Shoulders and Arms workout, but the only problem is, its after the Plyo workout. Even though Plyos doesn’t really workout your upper body at all, I’m always just kinda out of it the next day.
I saw you using primarily bands, I’ve yet to use them. What do you like about them more than just free weights?
If your enjoying the program and would like to make a little money helping other people, think about becoming a coach. Check out http://www.Beachbodycoach.com/jeff313 and click on the coach tab in the middle.
Good luck and stick with it
